Brain Injury Help
Mentoring - Support - Advocacy
We are a father-daughter team of brain injury survivors, bringing over 60 years of combined experience as lived experience, caregivers, and subject matter experts. After Sarah earned her PhD in Psychology—specializing in brain injury, neuro-rehabilitation, and social isolation—we joined forces to create a powerful set of tools to empower brain injury survivors and caregivers through the healing journey.
Our self-help webspace, podcast, "Brain Injury Life" book, and "End Social Isolation" initiative are designed to help you understand brain injury, manage symptoms, set achievable goals, maintain a safe and healthy lifestyle, prevent social isolation, and set realistic expectations for the road to recovery.
Sarah & Adel Shadi
Each year in the United States, approximately 2.8 million people sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and 3.5 million experience an acquired brain injury (ABI). In total, 13.5 million Americans live with the long-term effects of a brain injury, many of whom face significant challenges. Tragically, 1 in 4 individuals impacted by brain injuries attempts suicide, driven by social isolation and inequities in healthcare. This crisis is further exacerbated by the growing number of people experiencing brain injury-like symptoms due to Long-COVID and misdiagnosed PTSD.
